The creative design with all the different materials, languages and sounds, compared to nature and the world, can be called art. Designing one's life to be satisfied and happy in all circumstances and harmony with one's environment is the "art of living".

The perception of art and design is now more dependent than ever on personal aesthetics and cultural experience. The boundary between art and design is fluid. Modern masters of the fine arts like Picasso and Dalí have shown their love for jewellery as a design element in their beautiful works. Well-known artists such as Johannes Vermeer, Frida Kahlo and the boy Hans Holbein have immortalized jewellery in their paintings.

Wall structures as a design element for interior architecture are still relatively rare. They enrich and complete spaces harmonizing them. The Italian design award winner Giovanni Barbieri offers wall decorations in many colours and structures.
