2. Mid-century architectural haven
New Canaan, Connecticut
3. Award-winning Modernist masterpiece
Sydney, Australia
4. 1960s modernist villa
São Paulo, Brazil
5. Lake Lugano villa by Frank Lloyd Wright Studios
Lugano, Switzerland
This mid-century masterpiece overlooks Lake Lugano in the foothills of Mount Salvatore. The centrepieces of the estate are two nearly identical villas designed in 1962 by Frank Lloyd Wright studios’ architect L. Chiesa. Perfectly integrated with the surrounding natural landscape, each two-storey structure features a flat roof and flowing indoor-outdoor living areas, which connect to a swimming pool and 1.78 acres of secluded Mediterranean-inspired gardens.
