Lugano considered Switzerland’s safest city
Data announced at the introduction of Lugano police’s final balance
Among the 10 biggest cities in Switzerland Lugano is without any doubt the one that offers more security with an average of 30 crimes every thousand-citizen pro year, followed by San Gallo with 35.6 and Winterthur with 40.2, according to the federal criminal statistic concerning 2016.

Furthermore, for crimes prescribed on the Swiss Penal Code and about the fight against drugs our city obtains a gratifying result also amongst Ticino area, preceded only by Mendrisio and followed by Chiasso, Bellinzona and Locarno. They have reminded it today, not without hiding their satisfaction, commander of Police, lawyer Roberto Torrent and head minister as well as deputy major Michele Bertini, showing the final balance of corps of police. Statistics are important but not crucial, has said Bertini, but it is not the moment to lower our guard and our awareness must push us to continue to get better.
