In a dream landscape, the cogwheel train of Monte Generoso starts its journey from Capolago on Lake Lugano, covering about 9 kilometers and reaching 1704 meters in height. What makes this short trip even more unique is the fact that it has been going continuously for 130 years. It is exciting to think how many people climbed its wagons and how many stories it could tell!

The anniversary edition of the Settimane Musicali has been postponed to autumn 2021. However, in anticipation of the 75th festival edition we are presenting an exceptional event with six concerts from the 18th to 20th September 2020 at the Collegio Papio in Ascona, starring some of the most internationally-renowned musicians of the classical music scene. Ciò che rende questo breve viaggio ancora più unico è il fatto che viene percorso ininterrottamente da ben 130 anni. E’ emozionante pensare a quante persone sono salite sui suoi vagoni e quante storie potrebbe raccontare!

Was diese kurze Reise wirklich einzigartig macht, ist die Tatsache, dass sie seit 130 Jahren ununterbrochen unternommen wird. Es ist aufregend darüber nachzudenken, wie viele Leute seither in den Zug gestiegen sind und wie viele Geschichten sie erzählen könnten!
