SPA & wellness in Ticino by Pamela Pintus

SPA & wellness in Ticino by Pamela Pintus

In Canton Ticino there is no shortage of places to play sports, stay in touch with nature or to immerse yourself in the arts & culture. As I am a lover of wellness centers and spas, I decided to explore this sector in greater detail. Ticino offers some structures with exclusive services, and others are suitable for families. I hope that my personal experience can be helpful to those who want to follow my example. Below, I propose to you the centers I prefer.

DOT.Spa at the Kurhaus Cademario

What could be better than combining a series of treatments for body & mind well-being with a wonderful view? Nothing and, in fact, the Kurhaus Cademario is able to offer all this and even more. The location immediately convinced me, as it is elegant but sober and suitable for spending a holiday of privacy and comfort. Although it is a 4-star hotel, with luxury rooms and reception rooms, everything revolves around its DOT.Spa. The Kurhaus, in fact, was built in 1914 by Dr. Adolf Keller with the innovative idea, especially for that period, to take care not only of physical but also mental well-being. I was impressed by the breathtaking view that you can also enjoy from the spa. I booked a massage and enjoyed the two pools, one of which continues outside, with a fantastic view. The staff of the whole hotel, and the Spa in particular, are very attentive and friendly. Towels, bathrobes, slippers, soap, herbal teas and various drinks and dried fruit are available in the Spa. It is also possible to enjoy various whirlpools, hot and cold tubs, Turkish baths, saunas, to do chromotherapy, relaxation area and fitness room.

Venus Wellness Center at the Swiss Diamond Hotel Lugano

There is the Venus Wellness Center on the shores of Lake Lugano. I must admit that I was enchanted by it. Nothing is left to chance: the lights, the scented essences, the relaxed atmosphere will guide you on a journey of physical and mental regeneration. In this wellness center, it was possible to plan a personalized itinerary and be followed by a prepared and attentive team.
The Venus Wellness Center has a well-equipped gym, in fact, the personal trainer immediately advised me of the exercises that suited my needs. After physical activity, you can relax in the sauna, hammam, Turkish bath, whirlpool, and swimming pools. There are all-inclusive packages, of different duration and price, specially designed for specific needs, such as anti-aging, anti-cellulite, or anti-stress... why not try them all? If you wish to share this moment with your partner, the center also offers treatments for couples.

Castello "SPA & Beauty" at the Castello del Sole ad Ascona

The "SPA & Beauty" at Castello del Sole in Ascona, has about 2500 m² and is housed in the 5-star hotel of the same name, located in a quiet, relaxing environment with a private beach. A really enchanting place also for its architecture made up of not too high buildings, surrounded by greenery which harmonize perfectly with the surrounding nature.
The wellness center is more essential than the others, built in a modern design with natural colors, without frills or useless decorations that can divert attention from what is important: physical well-being and relaxation. Here exclusive products are used, made with grape-seed oil from the vineyards owned by the structure. In addition to the Kneipp path, various whirlpools, saunas, Turkish bath, swimming pool, massages and treatments, the "SPA & Beauty" at Castello del Sole also has a Spa-Suite, bookable by the hour, which allows you to enjoy various services in a reserved way, all with a view of the park.

Salini & Spa Center in Locarno

In Locarno I also had the opportunity to try the Centro Termali Salini & Spa, one of the few not located in a luxury hotel. The structure is spacious and modern and overlooks the lake.
Also, you can buy various types of packages in this case. I have chosen the one with the entrance, mud wraps, massage, and, to finish, fruit salad or dessert. This Spa is one of the few that has pools with salt water, and I must say that the location is very suggestive. I was advised to wait until sunset, and, in fact, the show was magnificent. Perhaps, and I stress perhaps, for my taste, there were a bit too many people in relation to the space available, a detail that does not allow you to relax properly.

Splash e Spa Tamaro

Splash & Spa Tamaro is different from the other describes so far. It is a water park of 3000 m² of relaxation and wellness also for children, indoor and outdoor pools, slides, water games, wave pools and panoramic pools, gardens and solarium. Everything is perfect for spending a day of fun. Reduced tariff for children after 5.30 pm, family packages and a whole series of periodical initiatives make the Splash and Spa Tamaro suitable for those looking for a place of fun. In addition to fun, the Splash & Spa has an ideal wellness area for adults. The offer varies between different saunas, I recommend the chestnut tree sauna, aromatic showers, salt bath and Turkish bath and different treatments. I found the Apero Spa, the evening entrances and the Ladies Night evenings dedicated to women's wellness with a journey of discovery of the flavors and traditions of various countries around the world.
