Golfing with Wetag Consulting by Patrizia Peter

A wonderful golfing Sunday for Wetag consulting, sponsor of hole 18 at the prestigious Würth Financial Services tournament at the Lugano Golf Club.

More and more people are talking about golf, a full-fledged sport, which allows you to spend hours outdoors, walking around and at the same time teaching you how to manage your personality and patience. Yes indeed, because playing golf goes far beyond knowing how to hit a small ball, it means concentrating for hours (just think, for those who don't know this sport yet, that it takes four hours to complete an 18-hole course), learning not to get angry, to control yourself, to be kind and diplomatic with your flight mates; a complex activity that requires discipline and a lot of training. But since more and more people are becoming passionate about golf, Wetag chose, as in the past for other tournaments, to participate personally the event organized by Würth Financial Services in Lugano. An event that involved 170 golfers, thanks to the exclusivity of the tournament that was able to offer a total prize money of more than 100'000.- francs.

Philipp Peter, co-owner Wetag Consulting immobiliare SA
"It was an eventful and important day for Wetag, but it was a pity that no one made a hole-in-one and therefore no one took home one of the five attractive prizes. As Wetag, we were on the course, at hole 18 to be more exact, with our sales assistant and coordinator Mrs. Anna Shpagina, who really managed to convey the spirit in which we operate: professionality, discretion, always ready for a smile".

For companies that believe in partnerships and creating important synergies in the region, these types of events are surely essential. Yes, because in addition to the fun aspect (if you can play discreetly and not take it personally, as golfers know) there is also a part of the relationship where business opportunities can be created, sometimes even important ones. It happens that you meet new people, especially during competitions, talk to them and casually find common interests or similar working perspectives.

"I've been playing golf for years, I started by chance when I was twenty and restarted regularly about 6 years ago. I can say that golf, as far as I am concerned, is also a business opportunity. I get to take clients out to play, spend hours with them, getting to know them better in a way, and only afterwards do we finally sit down at the table and look for a partnership, whether for the sale or purchase of a property. Undoubtedly, golf is a sport that brings people together. After 18 holes and four hours spent with another person, you can achieve something more than just an acquaintance; I am not talking about a friendship, but of a partnership that goes beyond a simple handshake”.

Therefore, when Domenico Ancarola, together with Würth Financial Services, proposed to the owners of Wetag, Ueli Schnorf and Philipp Peter, to join as sponsors in this project, everyone in the company was immediately enthusiastic. Wetag was able to combine business and leisure by inviting some of its golfing customers to the tournament and actively attending the 18th hole. The aim, in fact, was to enlarge their portfolio by introducing the company and the general interest was well appreciated. During the tournament many people came to ask for more information about Wetag's work and left their details to be recontacted.

"For me, having the opportunity to play with a client is a great joy, because in addition to the sporting aspect, as mentioned before, we get to know each other even better. As real estate owner, we get to spend an entire day with a client, accompanying them in their choices, having lunch and dinner together, sometimes establishing a friendship that lasts over time, even after the purchase of a house. Going back to golfing, for a company like ours being present on the course is a great opportunity, believe it or not, it can happen to sell or buy a house during a game, and this has already happened in more than one occasion.”

All this demonstrates how important it is, to be present on the market personally, because we all need to build a visual and trusting relationships with our interlocutor. For the real estate agent this is a fundamental aspect, without trust you cannot sell a property, therefore, it is important to create moments where we can get to know each other better.
